Metal Halide Technologies
Metal halide lighting systems produce a bright white light that is the best simulation of natural sunlight. They are used primarily for commercial and industrial applications, including warehouses, factories, sporting venues, parking areas and landscape lighting. Metal halide is an ideal source of nighttime lighting because its color rendering index (CRI) of 90+ allows it to show colors accurately, while HPS’s CRI of 22 distorts colors with an orange-yellow cast.
Uni-Form® Pulse Start Systems
Knowing that metal halide lamp/ballast systems are well suited for a wide variety of commercial and industrial (C&I) lighting applications, ADLT was formed to open new markets and expand lighting applications with this technology. We are uniquely positioned with both lamp and power supply design and manufacturing for North American and world markets to provide an optimized metal halide lighting lamp/ballast system to our customers. Since its development nearly 45 years ago, metal halide technology remained relatively unchanged, until ADLT introduced the Uni-Form® family of pulse start lamp/ballast systems. Featuring Venture Lighting International’s exclusive formed body quartz arc tube, this product line offers many clear advantages over traditional, pinched-body metal halide lamps, including: increased output, energy savings, faster warm-up and restrike times, safety features (i.e. shrouded lamps, less mercury and dramatically lowered UV emissions) and improved color uniformity. We have over 500 specialty and standard metal halide lamps, including Natural White® systems which provide high definition lighting.
Energy Legislation and Its Affects
Due to energy saving legislation, such as EISA 2007, we expect our Uni-Form metal halide lighting systems to command a large share of all domestic new installations in the coming year. With Uni-Form pulse start systems, our customers can also retrofit older metal halide technology for significant energy savings, reducing energy demands and lowering emissions. Pulse start systems made up a growing percent of all ADLT metal halide sales in recent years.
